This week we welcome Gavin and Paula as our guest speakers from Diathlete and your hosting duo are Mary and Tom. Gavin with diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 8 and Paula was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 4. Paula is a Paediatric Diabetes Dietarian.
In this #diabeteschat episode we will learn more about Gavin and Paula’s diagnosis and journeys with diabetes before getting to know how they met. We will learn more about Paula’s career and talk to Gavin about all the amazing things he has done with running and marathons. He did 25 in one month – incredible. We’ll find out how he managed his diabetes every step of the way. We’ll also talk about the amazing charity Diathlete and all the incredible things they are doing, including; workshops, events, camps and the upcoming t1 festival in October.
